Patrick William Adam

Born in Edinburgh in 1854, he studied at RSA schools, first having success with portrait paintings and later moving on to interior paintings.

Between 1889 and 1894 he painted a series of Venetian views. In 1896 and the following year he painted a series of winter landscapes.

In 1908 he settled in North Berwick and it was here that he painted the interior paintings for which he is best known.
