William Page Atkinson Wells

William Atkinson Wells was born in Glasgow and studied at the Slade School before moving to Australia for five years.
William Wells then went onto work in France where he was influenced by the rich tones of t
the Brabazon School
He later lived in Appledore,Devon. William Wells is mainly known for his rural painting scenes. He has a distinctive oil painting technique where the oil is applied thickly which creates a rich impasto.
